I spent many hours over the last year and half working on my second science unit. My work included developing a unit plan, writing lessons, developing engaging activities, and finding (and paying) for high quality images to accompany lessons. It’s been so much fun to develop and I am very proud of the result.
My goal was to provide third grade teachers access to usable science education materials. I also hoped to charge a reasonable price on Teachers Pay Teachers to recoup some of the time and materials costs.
The unit is complete now but a couple things changed since I started. The first is the Supreme Court decision South Dakota vs. Wayfair, Inc. The impact this decision had on TpT created a burden that is too high for me to continue selling products on the site. The second thing that changed is my exposure to other educators doing important work across the country. Through following these educators, I’ve realized the importance of making great resources available to everyone - for free.
Now, I’m sharing my science unit for free, 1 objective at a time, on this site. Once all objectives are posted, the whole unit will be available for free on TpT. However, it will always be a work in progress…
If you download these resources, I hope to hear from you about:
How you are using them,
Feedback you have to improve them, and
Stories of how the lessons are actually playing out in classrooms.
